If Red Roots has been looking snazzy lately, it's because the crew has been doing fix-its: caulking leaks in the roof, installing our sign and makeshift gutter (minus a drain spout), building a new utility shelf and zine racks, setting up new computers in the space, and organizing / alphabetizing the lending library.

This introductory beaded jewelry class will cover everything you need to know to get your own operation underway! You'll learn the basic steps to making a bracelet and necklace, as well as how to manipulate wire to create beautiful earrings. And, you'll walk away with beading wire (tiger tail), beads, an organizing box, wire, a pair of jewelry pliers, and your own handcrafted necklace, bracelet, and earrings!

Take an afternoon to learn about making and burning silk screens, and using them to print images. Materials will be provided, and you will go home with a t-shirt! Optional take-home bag with all the supplies used in class and equipment for future screening.

This class will begin a month-long Book Arts series. Each class will feature a different bookbinding technique, and we will build skills as we go.
You'll leave with a new skill and your own handmade books to share with friends & family!
All necessary materials included for use during class.
The second class in our series will feature an introduction to bookbinding tools and techniques. You'll learn how to make a stab-bound book and will take home a few new practice pieces.
